Four partners named 2015 MIP Stars

Date: 2015-07-06

Four Partners of Freehills Patent Attorneys have been declared Managing Intellectual Property IP Stars for 2015 by the comprehensive and authoritative guide to leading IP firms and lawyers globally.

Melbourne based partners James Cherry, Tom Gumley and Damian Slizys were included in the Guide in 2014; they retain their spot and are joined by colleague and partner, John Dower who is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

“Our firm has extraordinary talent and expertise and it is encouraging to know that it is acknowledged independently – and that a growing number of our people are attracting attention for their work,” said James Cherry, Managing Partner.

The announcement reconfirms Freehills Patent Attorneys' outstanding position as a leading firm with deep expertise in servicing global brand clients in the Asia Pacific region.

“While the assessment is based on individual assessments of each practitioner’s work, and feedback from clients, we know the story behind this recognition is that we have a firm with a large number of extraordinarily talented individuals. Together we do our best work,” Mr Cherry said.

Established in 1990, the IP Stars are named annually after researchers based in London, New York and Hong Kong go to work collecting market information and feedback from thousands of practitioners and clients.
