FPA Patent Attorneys is delighted to announce the promotion of Jared Maritz to Associate, effective 14 October 2026.

Jared holds a Master’s degree in engineering with first-class honours from the University of Oxford (UK) and has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications, including articles published in the Annals of Biomedical Engineering.
Jared has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent and design applications worldwide, including in Australia and across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. He has also advised on validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate matters across a range of technology areas and has been involved in a number of oppositions before the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand.
