We are delighted to share we have a new Principal join our Singapore office today, 1 December 2025.
Jonathan is a registered Singapore patent attorney with a technical background in electrical engineering. With more than 15 years in practice, Jonathan brings to FPA deep expertise across electrical and electronic engineering, computer hardware and software, medical technology, fintech, artificial intelligence, blockchain and quantum computing. Jonathan has considerable industrial experience in Electrical Power Systems. In particular, he specialised in Power System Protection, where he was actively involved in the commissioning, maintenance and project management of protection relays within the entire electrical transmission and distribution network.
Jonathan works with both local and overseas clients—from start-ups to multinational corporations—drafting and prosecuting patent applications throughout Southeast Asia. In addition to Singapore, he is highly experienced multiple Southeast Asian jurisdictions, including in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, enabling him to provide a seamless, one-stop service for clients seeking IP protection across the region.
Jonathan holds a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. He is an active member of the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys and has been consistently recognised in leading IP rankings, including Managing IP’s IP Stars (2021–2025) and IAM Patent 1000 (2025).
